We recently got to travel up to North Georgia with Campfire Adventures to capture their inaugural trip! They host “adventure photography” trips that offer hiking, delicious food, beautiful sites, and of course photography. They officially launch later this year, taking more groups of adventure seekers out for an unforgettable experience.
Having a quality video created can be...pricey. There’s no reason to beat around the bush here. But, there are a lot of things you can do to make the most of the time and money you invest into your video content.
One of the best things you can do when having a video created for your brand or business, is to find multiple uses for the footage. If you hire a production company to come out for a two day shoot, chances are, there’s going to be a ton of extra footage that was captured that doesn’t make it into the final cut. So, how can you take that unused footage and get more bang for your buck?
Something that we like to do for our clients, is offer shorter cuts of their completed video for social media. For example, we might create a two minute brand video and then cut that same piece, along with the additional unused footage, to also create 15 or 30 second promos for sites like Instagram and Facebook. We can tailor these to fit a newsfeed or Instagram story and use the content to either encourage viewers to check out the full-length video, visit a client’s website, or promote something else entirely.
By creating additional content with the same footage, our clients are able to receive more promotional content without having to pay for extra shooting days. It’s just extra time in post-production, which is always a more cost-effective option.
Another great way to use your footage is on your website. The perfect example of this is a header video for your homepage. A short, captivating video that is maybe 10 seconds in length and plays as soon as someone arrives at your site. When done right, a header video can show visitors who you are and what you do, in just a few seconds.
Another thing that we love about this, is that it keeps things cohesive. For example, if you have a brand video that tells your story somewhere on your site and you’re pulling footage from that same shoot to create other website content, it’s going to match. You’ll have the same style, color grade, and mood on all of the videos throughout your site.
Re-Using Old Assets
If you had a video created two years ago, you can repurpose those assets. It could be as simple as swapping out the original voiceover for a new one and voilà, you essentially have a new piece of content.
As much as we’d like to encourage business owners and marketing teams to have new video content shot and edited every month, that might not be in the budget for everyone and we get that. But, maybe you have the budget to create one killer, new video each year. That’s great!
Over time, you’ll have built up quite the library of content. Which is great for you. You can pull from previous year’s projects and piece new videos together and continue to share new content with your audience. This allows you to save money on the production side of things and would only have you paying for the editing time to rework your old assets.
The most crucial piece of advice we can offer you, is to plan ahead. Think of the different platforms you might want to post on and the different formats you could edit additional videos into. Talk to your production partner about your goals for finding multiple uses and reusing old assets. The right team will understand your needs, offer ideas, and be able to help you capture what you need to make the most out of your production and budget.
The more you can get out of the footage you have, the more value it has. Shoot us an email or give us a call. Let’s talk about the ways we can help you optimize the assets you already have and make some plans to start building your content library.
It’s 2019 and with a constant stream of content being shoved in our faces from morning until night, you’d think that our attention spans would be getting shorter. But, you would be wrong. New research suggests that our attention spans are actually IMPROVING. We’re just getting more selective about what we pay attention to.
Have you ever spent an entire Sunday sitting on the couch binge-watching the latest tv series? We have. And so have your customers. Your audience is capable of sitting down and staying engaged for an extended period of time. They just don’t have to.
There is essentially an endless supply of content out there for all of us to consume, so we don’t have to pay attention to anything that isn’t compelling. We can just scroll, click, or tap right past it to the next thing that is more interesting.
So as a business owner, how do you break through the noise? How do you get your content, your brand, your message, to stand out in someone’s newsfeed or in their inbox?
Statistics show us that the answer is videos. But not just any videos. Videos that tell a story and are driven by a compelling narrative. High-quality videos with stunning visuals and a message to share.
But why videos though?
Well...for starters, one third of the time people spend online is dedicated to watching videos. Which makes sense when you think about the fact that 45% of people spend more than an hour a week watching Facebook and YouTube videos and 75% of millennials watch video content on social media daily.
The good news about all of this, is that this viewership can help you sell products, get new customers, and increase traffic. A whopping 64% of consumers say that watching a video ad on social media has influenced their decision to purchase something in the last month.
In addition to this, simply adding a video to your emails, leads to a 200-300% increase in click-through rate and adding videos to your business’ landing pages can increase conversion rates by 80%!
If you’re wondering how video content translates in the B2B sphere, 59% of executives would rather watch a video than read text. Which we can relate to.
If you’ve made it this far into this blog post, you’ve read 385 words. Forrester researcher Dr. James McQuivey, estimates that one minute of video is equal to 1.8 million words. So that means, if we’d made a one minute video instead, it would have had the same value as 4,675 of these blog posts.
Luckily for us, we went ahead and made a video too. Check it out below.
87% of online marketers are ALREADY using video content as a crucial piece in their marketing strategies. So why aren’t you?

The fourth installment in our mini tutorial series is here! This week were talking about video bit rate.
It’s official! Brick Creative has found a new home in Downtown St. Petersburg, FL. Some people who know or follow us personally, may have already heard the news. But last month, Brick Creative moved into a new office on the other side of the bridge and we are so stoked for this new chapter!
We will always hold a spot for Ybor City in our hearts and we will continue to work with clients in the area. But, making the move over to St. Pete makes a lot of sense for us as a business (and as people).
A lot of the things that we love about Ybor, are the same things that we love about St. Pete. The art scene, the community, local businesses, and delicious lunch spots are just a few that come to mind and we are so excited to build new relationships on this side of the Bay.
In celebration of our big move, we had some of our logos updated and gave our website a little revamp. You can get the full effect by clicking HERE to start at our homepage.
We’re also working on a newsletter that we will be putting out every other month! We want to use the newsletter to share recent projects, business updates, and ideas. But we mostly want to share things that inspire us, with you. Maybe it’s a new album, a local artist, or a music video drop. Whatever we’re into that month, we want you to experience it too.
So, if you’re interested in getting on the list, click HERE to find the Sign Up form (see the “Stay in Touch” box at the bottom of the page). The first newsletter will be dropping August 1, 2019.
We’re so grateful to everyone who has been on this journey with us so far. Thank you, we appreciate you.
